Absolute beginner looking for advice
Hi all. Glad I found this forum. We live in land locked Midlands but regularly visit North Norfolk and often wander down to Brancaster Staithe Harbour (lovely spot). It's nice to see people milling about launching their boats off and it all looks very enjoyable. It's something I've been looking to get into but have no idea about how to go about it. I'm looking to start with a very small boat with motor. Looking to pot around - perhaps a bit of fishing - start of a hobby. What I'd like to know is where to start. If you feel it's necessary, Is there a suitable course to go on? Or should I go to the boat supplier and ask advice there? Or could you answer my questions here? As an absolute beginner, things that I'd be unsure of to start would be the most suitable and easy boat to purchase, launching, etiquette, where it's possible to use the boat, areas that can be explored around Brancaster / North Norfolk, safety, other kit required, lauch fees, boat storage (though would be looking for a boat with trailer. Sorry to bother you with such fundamental questions, but having not done anything like this, would rather avoid any silly mistakes. Would very much appreciate any advice you could offer.
